Jennifer Johnson is a part of our community
Jennifer Johnson grew up in Cross City, graduating from Dixie County High School. She was a cheerleader, played on the softball team, and played the baritone in the marching band. She understands and loves Dixie County.
Jennifer did not always want to be a Judge. Her undergrad degree is from UF in Environmental Science. Her projects at the UF soil lab included studies of the reproductive and survival rates of baby mullet in tidal estuaries in Mosquito Lagoon. Before going back to law school, she worked for Anderson Columbia Environmental, Inc. on various environmental cleanup projects during the time the State of Florida was requiring the removal of underground petroleum storage tanks.
She married a commercial fisherman from Steinhatchee in 1995. Together they owned and operated a 10-acre gulf front campground and marina. She decided to go back to Law School in 1997, while running the business and commuting to law school she often joked that she was the most educated shrimp dipper in the state.
